Blogging is a form of self-published media. It can feature photography, writing, and any other form of media. WordPress is a great tool to help new bloggers and old bloggers. There is a variety of different tools that can help such as posts. I think that posts are a particularly helpful tool, if not the most helpful tool for bloggers. On WordPress, you have the ability to schedule your posts to post on your blog page. There are also a multitude of other features that can be helpful. There is a tagging feature, which allows you to tag your posts so that when related things are looked up on the internet, your blog post will too. There is also the categorizing feature which does essentially the same thing. The use of featured images can also bring more people in, especially if your post is extra long. Below is an image of my first blog post. The one thing that I am struggling with is staying on a schedule, but over time I think I will improve on that. On my blog, I have written about the writing process that I follow, and shared some of my short stories.

There are a few simple steps that I took to making my blog. I started by creating a new blank page and titling it ‘Blog’. Then I saved and published the page with nothing else on it. From there, go to the main WordPress sidebar menu. Click on ‘Appearance’, and then ‘Customize’. Once in ‘Customize’, go to Homepage Settings’. When you open up ‘Homepage Settings’, you will see two options. A ‘Homepage’ header with dropdown underneath and a ‘Posts page’ header with it’s own dropdown. You are going to want to change the ‘Posts page’ dropdown to the ‘Blog’ page so that all of your recent posts go to the blank ‘Blog’ page. That’s all there really is to it, I hope this helps with the blogging process.
