Hello there, this is just a fun little story that I put together. I even decided to do some fun/silly illustrations of the characters to showcase some of my art. Hope you enjoy!

Prominent Bank Robbed

Friday July 13th started out normal, and stayed that way until ten past noon. Silver Crown Financial, the most exclusive bank in all of  Smewville, was robbed by a gang of three animals. Yes, you read that right. Animals. They were the most peculiar of sorts, sporting features from other animals. After the incident occurred, we interviewed some of the staff to see what they had to say.

Interview One

The Chronicle: “What are your initial thoughts on the matter?”

CEO: “It is truly absurd to think such a thing could have occurred. If it wasn’t for the security cameras, I would have called bluff.”

Interview Two

The Chronicle: “It is to our understanding that you were present during the event, can you describe what happened?”
Robert Lee (Bank teller): “I’d be happy too. I had just finished up with my lunch break, just returned to my desk when the automatic doors whooshed open. When I had first looked over, I was really suspicious. It seemed like the doors had opened on their own. That was until I heard a chittering noise. When I stood up to find the source, I’m sure you can imagine my surprise. So I did the only thing I could, crouch down and hide behind my desk.”

Interview Three

The Chronicle: “We heard that you were a passing witness to the event that unfolded yesterday. Can you divulge what you saw?”

Jen Frachie (Bank teller): “That’s correct, I was walking by the lobby when I noticed Robert hiding behind his desk. You see, he is deathly afraid of capybaras so I could understand why. What appeared to be a raccoon was chittering (more like shouting) and there was a lemur and capybara standing by. They all had take out bags on their heads, to cover their identities perhaps, I cannot be certain. The raccoon and lemur were brandishing sharpened sticks. Holding them like weapons, attempting to scare Robert. I would say that their method was quite effective. That’s when they noticed me, and to say they were angry is quite the understatement. They launched themselves at me, scaring me which caused me to run away and hide in the elevator.”

Interview Four

The Chronicle: “So you are the hero in this story, how did you scare away the animals?”

Stewart Wardington (Janitor): “I was doing my routine cleaning, and saw Jen frantically running away and slamming the ‘Door close’ button in the elevator. I had never seen anybody look that frightened so I was quite shocked. Well, these weird looking animal things quickly followed in her wake, leading me to believe that they were the cause of her fright. I did the only thing I could do. Scare them off with the mop. So as I was chasing away these hybris-like creatures, their bags fell off their heads, revealing their true nature. The raccoon-ish creature had a platypus (or duck bill, couldn’t be sure) in place of the nose and mouth. The capybara had huge antlers, like an antelope. The one that seemed the most normal was the lemur. Who had the head of a squirrel. Either way, it was still disturbing to see. Which the animals took advantage of. While I stood in shocked silence, the raccoon thing ran back around me and deeper into the bank. Before I had shaken from my shock, the raccoon thing had returned. With a bag of money in its mouth. With a screeching chitter, all of the animals took off once again. As soon as they exited the bank, I quickly ran to find a phone and dial 911.”

Interview Five

The Chronicle: “You claim that the animals are going to be charged with armed robbery, correct?”

Stevie Steinburg (Chief of Police): “That would be correct. After all, they did attack with sharpened sticks, and they somehow managed to get a whole bag of money. We found them hiding behind some trash cans, munching on pizza. Though they seemed hungry, stealing is not the right thing to do. Which means that they need to be punished for their actions.”

So the three hybrid animals were locked up and sentenced to jail for one year. They did not seem too disappointed while taking their mugshots. Or maybe they had never seen a camera before. Either way, I hope that at least in jail, the animals can have three good meals and not have to resort to robbing a bank to buy some pizza.
