Hello, this is a sonnet that I recently wrote in my Creative Writing class. Hope you enjoy:)

Grief and Those Who are Still Living

The loss of someone still holding close,
The scent of despair still hanging in the air,
The grave decorated with a single white rose,
The alarm in my brain starts to blare,
The sounds around me start to drown,
An unearthly silence filling my ears,
Now I stand feeling like a clown,
It’s time for me to face my fears,
Tears start to roll down my face,
Carving deep rivets in my skin,
My visage leaves without a trace,
My empty head starts to spin,
So hold those who are still kicking,
Close to your heart before time starts ticking.
